Westrope, David

Dave was born on November 27th, 1960, in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Hoover High School in 1979 and attended UNI.


Dave wore many hats during his life. He drove a truck for Meadow Gold Dairy, he was a drivability technician at Charles Gabus Ford. He and his wife Stacie moved to North Carolina, where he was a supervisor for his nephew's painting company for 3 years. They returned to Iowa in 2002 where they started their own painting company, Precision Painting.

He and Stacie enjoyed completing home renovations together. Dave loved working on cars and always had one (or 4) projects in the works. He enjoyed debating politics with his mother Norma. In addition to being a huge Iowa Hawkeyes fan, he loved NASCAR, old black and white movies and sitcoms, spending time with his wife Stacie and playing with their dogs, was the highlight of his day. He adored his daughter Taylor and meeting his grandson Kai was one of the best days of his life.


Dave passed away at home on Tuesday February 27th, 2024, from complications of heart surgery on February 16th.

He is survived by his mother Norma Needham, wife Stacie Westrope, daughter Taylor and grandson Kai Westrope, brother Tom Westrope his wife Laurie, sister Susan Halferty, a niece and nephews.


Dave was preceded in death by his father Thomas Westrope.


Dave will be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and will be greatly missed. 


Dave's wishes were to be cremated and there will be a celebration of life on May the 11th, details to follow. 


In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be sent to (Venmo@twestt).  A memorial fund has been set up under Dave Westrope memorial fund at Community State Bank.
