Des Moines - Valerie Ann Decker, age 53, our loving mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully on November 22, 2021 with her family and friends by her side.
Valerie was born on January 13th, 1968 to the late Tommy Ford and Alberta Henry. She was the second child in the family of four children. She graduated from North High in 1986 and made many friends in high school that were still around in her life during her time of passing. Valerie worked for Cobbs and then moved to DeeZee for 14+ years where she worked her way up to product management and was known for being a very dedicated worker.
Valerie was known to be a social butterfly, caring, and a resilient woman that lived her life through grace and faith. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, hanging out with her good friend Clifford Teed and sharing the word of God. Valerie loved many things, some of which were spending time with her grandchildren, The Bible, Mickey Mouse, camping, and Almond Joys.
Valerie is survived by her four children: Kelsie Fuller, of Grimes; Kyler Fuller, of Ankeny; Brody Decker, of Des Moines; and Danielle Decker, of Des Moines; her three sisters Lisa Ford, of Des Moines; Debbie VanVelzen, of Norwalk; and Donna Ford, of Norwalk; and the loves of her life, her five grandchildren; Kaylee Rankin, Joziah Corbin, Kiarah Corbin, Korah Corbin, and Kaylah Corbin.
A Celebration of Life will take place Spring/Summer of 2022.
