Terri A. Clark

Updated: Nov 21, 2020

God called Terri Ann (Kingery) Clark home on Wednesday, November 11th, 2020.

Terri was born in Des Moines, IA on June 24th, 1963 to William Clark Kingery and Sharon Lee (Ghaston) Overton. She is a proud Valley High School Class of 1981 graduate. After graduating, Terri spent several years traveling the country, before putting down roots in Waukee, IA for nearly two decades. Terri recently built a house in Adel, IA where she was enjoying her time. More than anything, Terri dedicated her life to her two girls: Shannon Danielle Clark and Tommie Marie Clark. Terri spent much of her career as a Quality Insurance Analyst at both Principal Financial Group and Wells Fargo. Terri overcame multiple health battles: a back injury, an organ transplant in 2016, and a stroke. She is a fighter. Through it all, she never lost her love of life, as she lived for her girls. Ultimately, Terri passed from an unexpected life-threatening brain hemorrhage that put her in a deep coma, which resulted in her being pronounced brain dead on Monday, November 9th at 2:18 p.m. Terri lives on through many others, as she donated tissue and will help save lives for up to the next five years. She gave the gift of life that she had previously received herself. She made this donation on November 11th, her oldest daughter, Shannon’s, birthday.

Terri will always be remembered for her infectious laughter, beautiful smile, fun-loving personality, true strength, and fierce love. Above all, she lived for her daughters, and was a proud mom. In her free time, Terri enjoyed soaking up the sun, especially in a pool, gardening in her yard, cuddling her dogs, Lucy Lou and Lily, shopping, laughing and spending time with her girls.

Terri is survived by her two daughters, Shannon Clark and Tommie Clark, her parents William (Lee Anne) Kingery and Sharon Overton, and many other relatives and friends. Terri is preceded in death by her Grandmother Nellie Marie Ghaston, brother Richard Lee Fogarty, and beloved dogs, Pepper and Mini.

There will be a memorial service at Immanuel Lutheran Church located at 900 S. Warrior Lane in Waukee, IA on Sunday, November 22nd. To attend virtually, please visit www.ILCWaukee.org. There will be an image on the homepage of the website that says, "Terri Clark Memorial Service" that leads to a live stream of the service. Flowers can be sent to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
