Sheila Kay Broome, 63, went home to be with the Lord peacefully at Mercy Hospital surrounded by her family on February 27, 2023. Sheila was born to Raymond and Violet Mallory on October 31, 1959. Sheila met Eugene at Des Moines Technical High School, and they married June 24, 1978. Together they had a son, Matthew, who they adore. Sheila and Eugene were married 44 years.
Sheila was an avid gardener, she found herself in her yard everyday she could. Sheila had a knack for the arts of crafting and design. Sheila's passions included cooking, canning, baking, and spending time with family. Sheila enjoyed designing t-shirts and making jewelry and even owned her own business selling personalized and handmade items. She especially loved spoiling her grandchildren and including them in her various projects and hobbies including mushroom hunting, gardening, and landscaping. Sheila was a very kind and caring person. Everyone who came into contact with her had only good things to say! Sheila would always put others first and would do so without complaint as bringing happiness to others was a true gift of hers. She is and forever will be an amazing inspiration to those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Left to cherish her memory are husband, Eugene; son, Matthew; daughter-in-law, Chantelle; three grandchildren, Leilani, Emmie, and Dawson; her dad, Raymond; brothers Michael and Timothy; sister, Laura; sisters-in-law Patty and Jennifer; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sheila was preceded in death by her mom, Violet; her sister, Bonnie; brother-in law Mike; father-in-law, Glen; and mother-in-law, Betty.
