Sandra Lee Rosenberger

Sandra Lee Rosenberger passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025, at 70 years old. Sandy was born on May 12, 1954, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Charles and Irene (Mossbarger) Evans.

She began working for her father at their family grocery store as a teenager and continued through her young adulthood, gaining experience and life skills by working in various departments. After starting a family of her own, she dedicated nearly 20 years to running an in-home daycare, where she formed friendships with many of the families she cared for.

Sandy also had lifelong friendships from her childhood and developed many more through her children’s schools and extracurricular activities. She enjoyed staying in touch with friends and family over the years and cherished her regular conversations with loved ones. She also enjoyed—and excelled at—cooking, baking, gardening, crafting, and embroidery.

Sandy deeply loved her children and was very proud of all their accomplishments. She also loved being a grandma and found great joy in all her grandchildren’s milestones, big and small.

Sandy is survived by her three children: Joe (Laci) Rosenberger of Des Moines, IA; Emily (Aaron) Wood of Sartell, MN; and Jill Rosenberger of Chicago, IL; and their father, Marvin Rosenberger of Cold Spring, MN. She was a proud grandmother to Miles, Eli, and Layla Wood of Sartell, MN.

She is also survived by her siblings: Dave (Deb) Evans of Des Moines, IA; John Evans of Palatine, IL; Jennifer Finnerty of Aurora, IL; and step-sister Deb (Jerry) Cave of Gilbert, AZ.  Sandy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Tom Finnerty, stepmother Phyllis Evans, and step-siblings; Lee (Virginia) Hanson and Candace (Busby) Burnell.

Sandy will be remembered for her kindness, love, and sense of humor. Her gift for gab and phone calls will be missed by so many. Her memory will live on in those she held close.
