Rickey C. Clardy, age 73, of Des Moines, Iowa died on March 29, 2021. He attended Des Moines Technical High School graduating in 1965.
Rickey was married to Rosia (Graves), the love of his life, for 53 years. He began working for the Rock Island Railroad prior to being drafted into the Army. Upon returning to Des Moines, Iowa in 1968, he returned to the Rock Island Railroad while attending the Area 11 Community College. He graduated with his Heating and Cooling certification and began his career as a sheet metal worker with Waldingers Co./Local 36. Shortly after working for Waldingers, Rickey moved his family to St. Louis, MO.
After retiring in St. Louis, he moved to Tampa, FL for five years before moving to Denver, CO. He returned to Des Moines in 2017. Rickey enjoyed fishing, listening to music, cooking, and watching baseball (Chicago Cubs games).
Rickey is survived by his wife Rosia; two sons, Richard James (Alicia) and Christopher Clarence (Tanya); daughter, Tracey Lynn; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Martha Clardy.
