LuAnn Paula (Brokaw) Harp was born on January 22,1954 in Fort Dodge, IA. She was the fifth child born to Willis & Paula Brokaw. She graduated from St. Edmonds Senior High
School in 1972. Later that year she married Daniel J. Harp, (then divorced in 1979) their union brought two daughters, Nicole and Stacy Harp.
She continued her studies at Iowa Central Community College for nursing and graduated with her RN (Register Nursing Degree) in 1986. She began working for the Woodward Resource Center in December 1986. She recently retired in 2021 from the Woodward Resource Center part of the Department of Human Services for the state of Iowa after 36 years of service. During that time, she received many awards and certificates for her outstanding service.
LuAnn was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening with the dogs and loved the sound of the slot machines.
LuAnn was called to eternal rest on May 3, 2022. She will be missed and loved by all who
knew her. LuAnn leaves to cherish her memory two loving daughters, Nicole (Bret) McFarland, and Stacy Harp. 13 Grandchildren, William, Ethan, Jevon, Kayla, Julian, Hayden, Emma, Elyssa, Callie, Megan, Tra, Wesley and Olivia. 3 great grandchildren, Malcolm, Solana and Maliek. Also, her sisters Linda (Ray) McCabe, and Kathy (David) Smith; many nieces and nephews and a host of beloved relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and mother Willis & Paulina Brokaw, brothers Kenny and Jim Brokaw, and sister Jeanie Parsons.
