In Loving Memory of Linda Casson

Linda Casson, 78, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, at Taylor House Hospice. She was born on May 21, 1947, in Des Moines.

Linda graduated from Tech High School in 1965, where she ranked in the top 15% of her class. She went on to attend Drake University and was recognized on the Dean’s List while attending DMACC.

Above all, Linda cherished her family. She took great pride in her children’s accomplishments and especially treasured the moments when all three of them could be together. Her love for them was unwavering and deeply felt.

Linda’s greatest passion was working with dogs. She devoted many years to helping dogs find loving homes, whether through adoption or rehoming. She was skilled in grooming and training and even entered dogs into competitions. Through her dedication, she made a lasting impact on countless families and their beloved pets.

In 2012, Linda co-founded the Bond of Unity Food Pantry, a reflection of her generous spirit and commitment to helping others. Her legacy of service continues through its ongoing work in the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marty and Marilyn Davis; her brother, John Davis; her sister, Jane Maynes; and her aunt, Dorothy Miller.

Linda is lovingly survived by her children, Julie White, Lisa (Rob) Barnett, and Brian (Nan) White; her grandchildren, Aaron Barnett, Lindsey Harvey, Ainsley White, and Braxtyn White; her great-grandchildren, Leia Barnett, Titus Barnett, and Josephine Barnett; and her beloved cocker spaniel, Tootsie.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at New Beginnings, 530 NE Broadway/46th Ave., Des Moines, Iowa, where Linda was a devoted member. A luncheon will follow the service. For questions, please contact Pastor Stephaney Moody at 515-334-8892.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bond of Unity Food Pantry, Taylor House Hospice, or directly to the family.

Linda’s kindness, compassion, and love will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
