Johnny Ray Meislahn Sr.

Johnny Ray Meislahn Sr. was born September 6th, 1962 in the great state of Iowa. Although most think him to be from Texas because of his deep drawl and love for the Dallas Cowboys, make no mistake he was a corn-fed farm boy from the Midwest with a heart that was most satisfied in the country.

Many of his childhood years were spent on his grandparents farm where he developed a love for animals, especially horses and dogs. He was a proud Marine with plenty of crazy stories as you’d expect from a leatherneck like him. When he wasn’t talking your ear off about one of his children or telling you the same story for the 5th time, he would most likely be found working on a vehicle or riding his Harley. He was the 1st to offer help even if he barely knew you and the last one to admit he needed help.

He left this earth to be reunited with loved ones on January 26th, 2021. John was preceded into eternal life by his parents, Alvin and Barbara Meislahn, who were no doubt waiting in line at the Gates to scold him for something. He is survived by his children: Johnny (Erica) Meislahn and grandson Beckett, Dusty Meislahn, and Brett Meislahn : siblings Karla (Russ) Nemec and their children Katie and Nic: Brian (Jodi) Meislahn and their children Lindsey, Alexis, and Blake, and grandson Caleb: Jeff (Mindy) Meislahn and their children Connor (Madison), Carter, Cameron, and Claire.
