John Garland was born on August 27th ,1959 in Waterloo, Iowa and passed away on July 16th, 2025.
John spent his life on the road, working tirelessly as a truck driver. He took great pride in his work. To those who knew him, John was more than a truck driver, he was a storyteller, a hard worker and a cowboy through and through. Everyone liked him; he was the nicest person you’ll ever meet. He had a love for the open road, a good pair of boots and a great Western film; especially if it starred John Wayne. The Duke wasn’t just a movie star to him, he was a symbol of how a man should live - tough, fair and faithful.
He shared 39 wonderful years with his loving wife, Shelia. Together, they build a life full of laughter, resilience and cherished memories.
John is survived by his children, Sherri and John; his beloved grandchildren, Katie, Candice, Chyanne, Nicholas, Joey and Troy; many great grandchildren who brought so much joy to his life and his siblings, Jimmy (Karla), Jeff (Shelly), and Judy (Ron) - all of whom held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his loved wife Shelia, and his son, Paul.
Though his journey on earth has come to an end, John’s spirit rides on, in the roads he traveled, the Western skies he loved and every heart that carries a piece of him.
