Fernando Antonio Sheeler

Fernando Antonio Sheeler, 46, of Ankeny, IA, passed away on August 8th. He was born on April 12, 1976 in Des Moines, IA.

Fernando, Nando as his family and friends called him, was a proud father and a good and loyal friend. He had the greatest laugh and gave the best bear hugs around. He had the greatest sense of humor and loved to tease. Fernando was brutally honest except when it came to the Iowa Hawkeyes who were the best team ever, even when they weren’t.

Fernando was a fierce competitor, first as a soccer player and later as an avid pool player. Fernando went to college for the first time as a grown adult and got a Bachelors degree in Project Management to show himself and his children it’s never too late to accomplish your goals.

Fernando loved supporting his children’s activities; he always cheered the loudest. He was very proud of coaching his children’s soccer teams and seeing the kids learn and grow in the game. Fernando’s spirit will live on in the many lives he touched. He will be greatly missed.

Fernando is predeceased by his father, Edgar Sheeler. He is survived by his wife Missy; his children, Paeton (17), Hayden (16), Jason (8), Jordan (3), Paige Landrum (17) and Tye Landrum (15); his mother Louise Rodriguez; his brothers, Mike (Jennifer) and Bob Sheeler; step brothers Jeremy Klisares and Brett Daniels and lots of other family who loved him!

Services will be held at New Hope Assembly of God, 4425 70th St, Urbandale, IA on Monday, August 22nd at 1pm.
