In Loving Memory of Dr. Arnold Kent Webster

April 26, 1931 – June 13, 2025

Dr. Arnold “Arnie” Kent Webster passed on June 13, 2025, at the Kavanaugh Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa. He was 94.

Born in Emmetsburg, Iowa, on April 26, 1931, Arnie lived a long and extraordinary life defined by kindness, curiosity, and passion for life. A graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, Arnie practiced as a dedicated periodontist for over 40 years, earning the respect of colleagues and the trust of countless patients.

After retiring, Arnie and his wife of 40 years, Sandra Webster, moved to Las Vegas to begin the next chapter. There, he rekindled his lifelong love of music, especially jazz, and returned to the alto saxophone. His passion quickly found community, and soon he was leading a professional big band made up of some of Las Vegas’s finest musicians.

Arnie’s enthusiasm for life was infectious. Whether he was flying planes, golfing, making music, or doting on his cats, he brought a spirit of warmth and humor to everything he did. His generosity, intellect, and quick wit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Above all, Arnie was a man of deep faith and love for his family, his friends, and for life itself.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Webster; his children, Sherri Webster, Mark Neary, and Stacy James; his sister, Verdis Overshiner; his grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Arnie’s was a life well-lived—a beautiful symphony of laughter, love, and service. He will be deeply missed and always in our hearts.

“Arnie was a beloved grandfather who always greeted us with a smile and a hug. He was someone who would lift us up and had so much love to give no matter how much life had thrown at him. We cherished our time with him immensely by sharing stories, having a sweet treat, and giggling at his witty humor!” Hannah and Jackson Neary

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 12th at 10:00 AM at the Grimes Community Center.
