Capt. Dennis Lee Anderson USN(Ret.) D.O.

Dennis Lee Anderson arrived in Jesus’ presence, hearing “Well done, good and faithful servant” on March 4th, 2026.

Denny continues to be loved by his wife of 56 years, Linda Gruver Anderson, his two sons, Eric (Roberta), and Bryan (Rochelle) along with seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Denny was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter.

Born on August 2nd, 1943, to Virgina and Pat Anderson, Denny graduated from Drake University in 1967 and Des Moines Medical University in 1971 with his D.O degree, specializing in Pathology. Denny served in the US Navy Medical Corps, achieving the rank of Captain and retired with over 29 years of faithful service.

His life is marked by many as they observed his love for God, Christ, and the Spirit, volunteering at churches and financially supporting students at MidAmerica Nazarene University through scholarships. Recently, he told one of his close friends that his best friend is Jesus; Denny’s desire is that we all have Jesus as our best friend!

In his retirement he enjoyed fishing, playing spades and pool and spending time with his family. He will continue to be loved and missed by many as he left deep footprints in so many lives.
