Debbie Stone

Debra “Debbie” Lorine Stone (Salyers), 62, of Des Moines, IA, passed away March 7th after a short battle with brain cancer, Glioblastoma. She was born June 4th, 1960, in Keokuk, IA to Marvin Salyers and Katherine (Saffell) Bair.

She is survived by her Mother Katherine Saffell; Children: Amber (Arthur) Glanville of Houston, TX, Amy (Joe) Gerk of Des Moines, Kenny (Lori) Stone of Des Moines; Stepchildren: Nikki (Dennis) Jeffers, Josh Wheeler, Heather (Jessica) Steele; Grandchildren: King and Robert (II) Fletcher, Isabella and Catalina Gerk, Taryn, Payton, Jalyn, Archie, Rhyanna, Julianna, Lillyanna Stone; Sisters: Jeannie Salyers, Lisa (Bill) Chabert; Brothers: Doug Salyers, Corky and Kevin Champlin as well as many beloved cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her Dad Marvin Salyers; Stepdad’s: Ronnie Champlin and Ray Saffell; Grandparents: Jim and Lorine Salyers, Steve and Betty Bair.

Debbie has been cremated and will be buried with her stepdad Ronnie in a private ceremony with immediate family only. Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life, which will be held at AmVets Post #2, 2818 5th Ave, on Friday March 17th from 12-3pm. Everyone is encouraged to come as you are and invited to share a memory or two.
