In loving memory of Valerie Christine Hughes, who passed away on April 28th, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family. Valerie was born on June 8th, 1958, in Boone County, Iowa. She married the love of her life, Ronald Hughes, and together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and cherished memories.
Valerie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her beloved husband and grandchildren.
Valerie's selflessness knew no bounds, and she always prioritized the needs and happiness of others above her own. Her generosity and willingness to help will forever be remembered by all who knew her.
One of Valerie's greatest talents resided in the kitchen, where she delighted her loved ones with her culinary creations. Her famous "Grandma Val's" Spaghetti was more than just
a meal: it was a symbol of love and warmth that will be cherished and passed down for generations to come.
Valerie leaves behind her devoted husband, Ronald Hughes, her three loving sons, Michael (Macey) Krause, Jeremey (Julie) Krause, and Timothy (Anna) Krause, along with their families,
including 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her dear sister, Brenda Lee Elsberry.
A celebration of Valerie's remarkable life will be planned for later this summer, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory, share stories, and celebrate the love
she brought into the world.
In this time of sorrow, may we find solace in the cherished memories we shared with Valerie, and may her loving spirit continue to guide and inspire us all.
