Timothy Brian Hildenbrand was born on October 18th, 1968 in Des Moines, Iowa, and passed away due to complication following a triple bypass surgery on May 5th, 2025 at Methodist Hospital.
Born with an adventurous spirit and an unmatched work ethic, Tim was an entrepreneur and built a successful roofing business through sheer determination and skill. He was known for quality work and the pride he took in every job. Tim traded shingles and ladders for sunshine and open water when the workday ended. His boat was his sanctuary, and he shared countless sunrises and sunsets on lakes and rivers with family and friends.
Whether he was casting a line in hopes of reeling in the big one or carving across the surface on skis, Tim’s love for the outdoors was contagious. He was generous with his time and always ready with a story, a smile, or a helping hand. Those who knew him best would remember his loud laugh, his fearless energy, and the twinkle in his eye whenever he talked about his next trip to the lake. He lived his life at his favorite speed, full throttle.
Tim’s legacy is one of grit, joy, and freedom. He taught us to work with purpose, live with passion, and always keep our eyes on the horizon. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered every time the motor starts and the water calls.
Tim is survived by his stepfather, Harry “Pops” Hager; his sister, Daryl Diane (Jim) Countryman of Des Moines; his brother, John Hildenbrand of Stanwood, Washington; and his sister, Kathie Douglass of Des Moines. He is also survived by his cousins, Mike (Stephanie) Hildenbrand of Pine Island, MN, and Stephanie Hildenbrand (Andy) Church of Stuart, IA. Additionally, he is survived by his beloved chosen daughter, Alexa Renae, and her mother, Maria, who was the love of his life. Tim cherished his family deeply and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember him with love and admiration.
Tim was preceded in death by his father Cliff Hildenbrand, Mother Mary Jane Hager, and brother Robert Lee Rissman Jr. Tim held his grandparents very dear, they all had a hand in his upbringing. He was preceded by grandparents Walt and Kathryn Hildenbrand and Grandfather Basil Oxford. Grandmother Evelyn passed just days after Tim. Tim’s second loves were his dogs Peanut and Dazy, both of whom he loved for their whole life.
At his request, there will be no service at this time. His body has been cremated, and family and close friends will scatter his ashes at the Hildenbrand family vacation spot in northern Minnesota.
