Thomas was born May 20, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio to Warren Devitt and Grace O'Donnell. Tom was primarily a resident of Orlando, FL; was married and divorced only once and adopted two sons, Michael Devitt and Christopher Devitt.
He is survived by these two sons and their wives, Jasmin Devitt and Britta Devitt; as well as two grandsons and eight granddaughters. Tom will be missed most fondly by his eldest grandson Alex Devitt who spent the most time with him.
Thomas was known throughout his community as never being afraid to preach to all and invoke the hope filled name of Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior. He spent the last months of his life with Michael and Jasmin in Iowa and passed away at the age of 80 on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Thomas's remains shall be handled by The Cremation Society of Iowa and at his request no funeral is being held since "he won't be here to enjoy it".
