Teresa Lorraine Kisling Waters

Teresa Lorraine Kisling Waters was born on Thursday, April 29th, 1954 to David and Patricia Kisling in Adel, Iowa. Teresa attended Adel Community schools, and later, Indian Hills Community College majoring in psychology. Throughout Teresa’s professional career, her most meaningful relationships were forged at CBE where she gained many adopted family members, lifelong friends and earned the nickname Mamma T.

Teresa had two birth daughters, Janell (Jimmerson) and Sarah (Solaita). She was a single mother who taught her girls personal integrity, the value of hardwork, and above all respect and kindness to others.

Teresa’s pride and joy in life was being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her most cherished moments were spent with them over the last several years. She enjoyed taking them for special shopping trips, having sleepovers with them and cooking them their favorite meals making sure each one of them felt just as special as the others.

Teresa is preceded in death by her parents, David and Patricia Kisling, siblings David, Jackie, Burton and Shirley Kisling.

Teresa is survived by her siblings Christopher (Kerry) Kisling, Rebecca (Kevin) Steele and two daughters Janell and Sarah. Her grandchildren include Misty (Ellery) DePaul, Travis Jimmerson, Megan (Anthony) Kennedy, and James Hites all of Van Meter Iowa, Sam (Grace) Hites of Des Moines Iowa, Nathan Solaita of Fayetteville NC, Leah Jimmerson of Van Meter Iowa, Leilani Solaita of Fayetteville North Carolina, Samantha Jimmerson, and Zaiden Jimmerson both of Van Meter Iowa. Great Grandchildren Arabella, Aralyia, Artemis, Aries and Arcus (Misty DePaul), Auden, Emberlynne, Addilee, Keagen and Adriane (Megan Kennedy), Prescott, Danika and Denise (James Hites).

A celebration of life is being held October 10, 2020 in Van Meter, Iowa from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Food and refreshments will be provided. Please bring your smiles and memories to share with friends and family.
