Tania Joy Siembieda

Tania was born in Sioux City in 1933. She is preceded in death by her mother, Josephine; father, Clayton; step mother, Myrtle; sister, Karen; brother, Jack; and youngest daughter, Halle. She is survived by her children Debbie (Miguel), Anthony (Raquel), Greg (Nadine), Adrienne, and Joe; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

As a child, her family moved around, finally settling in Canton, Ohio. Those whose lives she touched will remember Tania as the fun loving girl who, along with her sister, Karen, spent their free time roller skating and creating their own costumes for competitions.

After graduating from Timken High School she worked as a secretary eventually moving to Cleveland, marrying, and starting a family. As her family grew they made several moves, settling in West Des Moines. Tania stayed home raising her children, working part time at Von Maur as the children grew up. She then worked for US WEST as a directory assistance operator, eventually transferring to the Tempe, Arizona office when her children were older. After retiring, she moved back to West Des Moines to spend more time with her grandchildren.

Tania found it easy to talk to anyone, and had many friends. She was a volunteer at the Tempe Police Department, belonged to the Red Hat Society, and was a duel member of the Sports Car Club of America holding memberships in the Arizona and Des Moines Valley regions.

Due to ongoing Covid concerns, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimers Foundation for research.

Cards can be sent to Joe Siembieda.
