Susan “Sue” Jean Boyd passed away on June 14th, with her family lovingly by her side.
Sue was born on November 18, 1947, to Donald and Dorothy Witt. She was one of 3 children. Growing up Sue and her family moved around, however her favorite place was Colorado Springs.
In May of 1976 Sue and Randall ‘Randy’ Boyd joined their families together. Sue was the loving mother of three daughters and one son. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandma to her six grandchildren.
Throughout her life Sue enjoyed spending time behind a sewing machine. She was known for making her kids’ clothes, her grandkids’ Halloween costumes, and was known to fix many rips and tears for her kids, in-laws, and grandkids’ clothes. Sue and Randy enjoyed spending their time bowling and taekwondo with their kids. Sue was an avid reader, enjoyed collecting Barbie dolls, and enjoyed traveling with her grandkids.
Sue is survived by her daughters Stacy (Greg) Lambert, Lisa Fuller, and Lori (Todd) Porter; son Teague (Brandy) Boyd; grandchildren Marinda (Juan Esparza) Fuller, Tera (Aric) Broderick, Seth Mahedy, Jonathan Boyd, and Lucy Boyd. Sue is also survived by her sister Patricia (Mark) Meyers, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Dorothy Witt; sister Pamela Floren; granddaughter Cassidy Mahedy; and husband Randy Boyd.
A celebration of life will be held at Mid Iowa Council, Boy Scout Center: 6123 Scout Trail, Des Moines, IA 50231 Saturday, July 13 th from 2-4pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Animal Rescue League on behalf of Sue Boyd.
