Scott Allen Carr, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024, at the Unity Point Hospice – Taylor House after a short battle with cancer. In accordance with Scott’s wishes, there was no funeral held. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 31st at the Senior Center Community Room, 7305 Aurora Ave., Urbandale, IA 50322 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Scott was born in Des Moines, Iowa on March 25, 1958, to Charles E. “Joe” Carr Jr. and Jeanne Brubaker Carr. He attended Hoover High School where he graduated in 1976. He later attended Lincoln Technical College where he received his degree and continued to work as an Auto Technician until late 2023. He worked at Home Depot until retirement as a Tool Technician.
Scott leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Susan Carr and two children Evan Carr and Megan Carr as well as his sisters Charity McCauley (Bob) Andeweg of Urbandale, Connie (Steve) Fuglsang of Urbandale, and Paula (Paul) Bertino of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, his sister-in-law Eadie (Alan) Stanton, and nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Charles E. “Joe” Carr Jr. and Jeanne Brubaker Carr and his in-laws George Miller Huffman and Rosemary Huffman.
The family would like to express our very special thanks to the staff at Taylor House for the incredible care and respect that he received while in their care. In lieu of flowers, we respectfully request memorials be sent to Unity Point Hospice – Taylor House, 3401 E Douglas Ave, Des Moines, IA 50317.
