Ryan David Jerisk

Ryan David Jerisk, beloved husband, parent, brother, and friend, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at the age of 57.


Ryan was born to Steve and Dian Jerisk on December 28, 1964, in Michigan. He attended school in Burton, Michigan, and graduated from Bentley High School in 1983. He joined the Army after high school, and then moved to Des Moines, Iowa, where he pursued a career in warranty management.


He met his wife, Julie, in 1990, and for the next 31 years, they raised their family and built their lives together in Des Moines. For those who knew Ryan, he was an outgoing man who had many interests and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Ryan was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Lions. He loved the game of golf, and the time he spent with friends on the golf course. He enjoyed taking vacations, boating, and camping with his family, especially their trip to Lake Superior. Ryan had a love of all animals and will be missed by his cats, Frank and Spike.


He is survived by his wife, Julie Jerisk; his two sons, Cole and Dane Jerisk; his mother and step-father, Dian and Don Barry; his siblings Robert Jerisk (Burton, MI), and Rene`e Jerisk (Swartz Creek, MI), mother-in-law, Mary Weyer (Humboldt, IA); sister-in-law Susan (Joe) Myers (Marion, IA), as well as a niece and four nephews. Ryan was preceded in death by his father, Steve Jerisk, and his sister-in-law, Chris Jerisk.


A funeral service will be held on January 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Des Moines, Iowa. There will be a reception to follow after the service.
