Russel Stonehocker, 77, passed away on October 18th, 2022, peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer. Celebration of Life is planned on Saturday October 29th, 2022, from 12-4 at Home Lodge 5201 Maple Dr. Pleasant Hill, Ia 50327. Lunch will be provided.
Russel was born on February 1st, 1945, to Jonas (Bill) and Fern (Hale) Stonehocker in Linden, Ia. Russ worked for the DOT until he retired in 2004. Russ enjoyed camping, motorcycle rides, family time and traveling. Russ was a snowbird for many years with Sharon until he couldn’t travel any more. Russ loved watching his western movies and sports. Russ will always be remembered for mostly his sarcastic sense of humor and his contagious smile.
Russel is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon Stonehocker; son; Randall (Debra)Stonehocker and daughters; Ronda (Ruben) Cedillo, Robin Stonehocker. 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Russel is preceded in death by his parents, Jonas (Bill) and Fern Stonehocker and siblings Lovel, Lois Davis, Darrel, and LuAnn.
