Rodney Gene Fuller

Rodney Gene Fuller, age 79 passed away at home surrounded by the love and comfort of his family on February 10, 2021.


The son of Delbert and Ruth (Stockman) Fuller was born on May 10, 1941 in Washington County, Iowa. During his early years he was a caddy at a local country club which turned into a lifelong love for the game of golf. In 1999 he was the Overall Men’s Champion in the Des Moines Senior Open.


Rod served in the Army from 1966 – 1968. Shortly after his service he started his own Concrete business pouring footings and flat work. He married the love of his life Regina (Burley) Fuller on October, 22, 1988. In retirement he enjoyed meeting up for a round of golf with his friends, napping to daytime TV and Nascar races, and making dinner for his wife. Most weekends he watched his grandsons Mason and Kaden race RC cars joyously celebrating each time they placed. In the winter he traveled to Arizona to spend time with his daughter Michelle and her children, Casey, Christian and Chloe. During the visits he loved taking them to the driving range to hit golf balls. He never missed a phone call with his children and grandchildren.


He is survived by his wife of 32 years Reggie Fuller, Son Michael (Sara) Fuller, Daughter Michelle (Clinton) West and Son Jesse Avitt, five grandchildren, Casey, Christian, Chloe West, Mason and Kaden Fuller.


Rod was preceded in death by his father, Delbert, his mother, Ruth (Stockman) and his siblings, Audrey Foust and Sidney Fuller.


A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
