Roberta "Bertie" (Amosson) Williams

Roberta (Amosson) Williams, 81, passed away peacefully on September 9th, surrounded by her family.


Roberta “Bertie” spent her childhood years in Goldfield, Iowa. After graduating from Buena Vista University with a degree in education, Bertie met her husband (Dean) of 58 years. They had two children (Michael, Jane) and spent the next 25 years living in Primghar, Iowa where she loved teaching elementary school. In 1989, the family moved to Spirit Lake where she made wonderful friendships and enjoyed retirement. She spent the past seven years in Des Moines, IA where she cherished time with her beloved grandchildren.


In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother, Bertie enjoyed golfing, traveling and cheering on her favorite Iowa State Cyclones. She lived a full and warm life, filled with joy. Bertie is survived by her husband Dean Williams, son Michael Williams, daughter Jane Clark (Rich), grandchildren Jordyn Williams, Max Bassman and Sammy Clark. She will be forever loved and forever remembered. No services will be held, as Bertie requested.
