Robert Joel Miller, 82, of Des Moines passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, January 23, 2023, at MercyOne Johnston Hospice Care.
He was born on January 3, 1941, in Manning, Iowa to Peter and Maurecia (Noonen) Miller and moved to Des Moines in 1961. He graduated from American Institute of Business and worked at Dial Finance and Bankers Trust before his career in real estate.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He took every chance he could to enjoy nature, hunt, fish, travel and watching sports of all kinds. He was well read, articulate, and had a great sense of humor.
Bob will be greatly missed by his children, his daughter, Sherri Gezel of Johnston, Iowa; son, Anthony Miller of Henderson, Nevada; Steve Miller of St Paul, MN and Joel Miller of Des Moines, IA; and he was a wonderful grandpa to his three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Nathan Miller, and four brothers.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM and service at 11:00 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church (1230 Merle Hay Rd, Des Moines, IA) on February 11, 2023.
