Richard C. "Dick" Cayot

Richard C. "Dick" Cayot was born on November 6, 1934, in Kansas City, Kansas and passed Friday Dec 26, 2025, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Des Moines. Iowa

Dick grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. He served in the Army from 1955-1957 and settled in Des Moines in 1965. He worked several jobs in his lifetime and was very handy. He enjoyed building dollhouses and train sets with his children one piece at a time.  He was a talented carpenter, painter, and builder. He loved to dance and spent many years as a dance instructor. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time at the local senior center playing games and chatting with friends.

Surviving family members include Cheryl (David) Hanson, Fayette, Iowa and Chandler (Anjie) Cayot, Dallas, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Cayot Sr and Marguriete Cayot and his brother Charles Cayot Jr.

He will be buried at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery. Memorial Service will be planned later.
