Paul W. Robb
Paul W. [Buck] Robb of Story City, age 95, died on November 3, 2022. He was born on April 1, 1927. He was the son of Art and Zella Robb who farmed near Renwick. He grew up and attended schools in the Clarion area.
On December 11, 1949 he was married to Dorothy Mae [Buff] Christopher. The couple lived near Goldfield, Webster City, Kamrar, and Garden City where they farmed until they retired and moved to Story City. The family was able to surprise and celebrate Buck’s 90th birthday and Buff’s 86th birthday with many friends and family in 2017. The couple was married 71 years.
Buck was survived by his family of four children: Susan Emmett Holdgrafer of Ellsworth; Bill [JoAnn] Robb of Webster City; Rodney [Laurie] Robb of Kelly; and Lana [Wendell] Day of Des Moines. His seven grandchildren include: Cody Holdgrafer of Ellsworth; Shane Holdgrafer of Radcliffe; Sherrie [Josh] Baldwin of Belmond; Justin [Gretchen] Robb of Minneapolis; David Day and Daniel Day from Iowa City, and Deanna [Zach] Rudolph, from Des Moines. His great-grandchildren included: Jaxson, Charlie, Tucker, and Derick Baldwin, Waylon Robb, and a soon to be great-granddaughter on the way for the Rudolphs. Marguerite [Jack] Middleton, of Ankeny was his sister-in-law.
Buck was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his parents, his brother, Robert [Gladys] Robb of Clarion; his sister-in-law, Jeanette [Harold] Mueller of St. Louis; and two sons-in-law, Richard Holdgrafer and Wayne Emmett.
Buck was active all his life and into his late retirement years. Buff and Buck traveled south to warmer places for many years enjoying the sun at Yuma, AZ. Biking, fishing, woodworking and designing jewelry were just a few of his hobbies. He liked to read, listen to old country music and could come back with some great one-liners. Everyone in the family had a nickname. He loved to read his Bible and talk to Jesus. Everyone that knew him said he lived life to the fullest one day at a time.
There will be a Celebration of Life of Paul "Buck" Robb on Saturday, November 12 at 11:00am at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery (13171 330th St. Radcliffe, IA).
