Patti Zahn

October 31, 1976 – July 8, 2025

Patti Zahn, age 48, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, the same hospital where she brought joy into the world on October 31, 1976, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Patti was known for her bright spirit and the warm smile she shared with everyone, no matter what the circumstances. Her joyful presence lit up every room she entered. Patti found happiness in the simple pleasures of life—coloring, painting her nails, dancing to music, and singing along with joy. She especially loved going to work at Link, where she cherished the routine, her coworkers, and the friendships she formed there. Patti never missed a beat, and her enthusiasm for life touched everyone around her.

She is survived by her loving father, Walter (Marsha) Zahn; her devoted siblings Emil (Michelle) Zahn, Angela (John) Anders, Kasi Zahn, Heidi (Nathan) Hommer, and Mandi (Austin) Lamb, Naomi VerSchure, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Patti was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Carolyn Bair.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date to honor Patti’s memory and the joy she brought to all who knew her. The family extends their heartfelt thanks for all the love, prayers, and support during this time.
