Patricia Anne Mac Connell Travis, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of those she cherished most.

Born on December 13, 1942, in Worcester, Massachusetts, Patricia was the beloved daughter of Donald Alexander and Ruth Evelyn (Burhoe) Mac Connell. She was raised alongside her siblings Joan, Donald, Paula, and Jon, spending much of her childhood in Westboro, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Westboro High School.

Patricia’s life forever changed when she met the love of her life, Russell Paige Travis, in Connecticut while he was serving in the military. Their love story blossomed into a beautiful marriage in Westboro, Massachusetts, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion in Corning, Iowa. Together they were blessed with three children: Patricia Ruth, Matthew Donald, and Scott Paige.

Patricia was a woman of many gifts and quiet talents. First and foremost, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family was the center of her world. She had a creative spirit and found joy in art, baking, and tending to her beautiful flower gardens. Her home was always warm and welcoming, often filled with the comforting smell of something delicious baking in the oven. Later in life, she proudly owned and operated her own house-cleaning business, earning the admiration and trust of many through her hard work and caring nature.

Though Patricia had many accomplishments, nothing meant more to her than the people she loved. She treasured every moment spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and dear friends. Her kindness, gentle heart, strength, and unwavering love will continue to live on in all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, Matthew Donald Travis; and her sister-in-law, Gail Mac Connell.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 55 blessed years, Russell Paige Travis; her daughter, Patricia (Robert J. Lanzetta) Travis; her son, Scott (Cara Atwood) Travis ; 10 treasured grandchildren; 4 adored great-grandchildren; her siblings, Joan (Curt) Wickman, Donald Mac Connell, Paula (Jody) DeJoinville, and Jon (Tina) Mac Connell; along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by her love and grace.

A funeral service honoring Patricia’s life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Iowa Veterans Home, Malloy Building, 1301 Summit Street, Marshalltown, Iowa 50158.

Patricia’s beautiful soul, loving heart, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
