Nancy Jo Tague passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 9, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa, where she spent her entire life in the only place she ever called home.
Nancy eventually met Bobby Tague, the unquestioned love of her life. Together they shared more than 40 glorious years of marriage filled with love, laughter, hard work, and devotion to one another. Side by side, they finished out their careers working for Holiday Inn, where they touched the lives of so many through their kindness and dedication.
Nancy was the calm that could weather any storm, the strength you leaned on when you thought you had none left, and above all, a woman who loved with a deeply forgiving heart. She was tough as nails and taught everyone around her how to become the very best version of themselves. Her love, wisdom, and strength will live on in all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by those gone far too soon: Bobby Tague, baby Robert Tague, Bob Hochmuth, Lillian Hochmuth – Longenecker, Jack Longenecker, Terry Hochmuth, Bobby Hochmuth, Little Terry and Jeff Moon.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Verlin Brown, Steven Brown, and Heather (Sander) Brunnelson; her grandchildren, April, Conner, Lyllie, and Alyssa; her siblings, Denny (Rhonda) Hochmuth and Tina Moon; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on May 14, 2026, at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, One NE 60th Ave., Des Moines, IA 50313. A small luncheon will follow from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Sugar Shack Diner, 550 36th Ave. SW Ste. J, Altoona, IA 50009.
Nancy will be deeply loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
