Nancy Erickson, 69, of Urbandale, Iowa passed away peacefully April 27th, 2021. She is survived by her sons Neil (Tracey) Erickson and Brent Erickson, two grandchildren (Celeste and Chase), her sister Debby (Jim) Grimm and her brother Steve (Shannon) Greer. She also had many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Russ, her brother Tom Greer and her parents Don and Mary Greer.
Nancy was born August 24th, 1951 in Moline, Illinois. She came to the Des Moines area at a young age where she established her home and graduated from West Des Moines Valley in 1969. She was married to the love of her life Russ on July 8th, 1972. Nancy lived her dream of being a stay at home Mom and was her sons’ biggest cheerleader in anything they did. Nancy enjoyed time with family, crafts, the casino and being in nature. She was a proud grandmother and friend to many. She will be dearly missed by everyone that knew her.
Special thanks to her brother and sister in law, Zona and John Crouse for opening their home for rehabilitation and allowing her to reach her goal of getting back home. She will be remembered for her fight and the will to survive.
A Celebration of Life Luncheon and Casual Service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church (3857 E. 42nd Street, Des Moines, IA 50317) on Sunday, May 2nd, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00pm.
