Mark Steven Holloway, 64, of Urbandale, Iowa, passed away on September 11, 2026, at Kavanagh House in Des Moines following a short battle with cancer.

Mark was born on February 24, 1962, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Rod and Rose Holloway. In 1970, the Holloway family moved from Lincoln to Urbandale, Iowa, where Mark grew up and made his home. He graduated from Urbandale High School in 1980.

Mark will be remembered as a loving and present father and a friend to many. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time at the Elks Club in West Des Moines. He also had a love for travel and shared many adventures around the world with his partner, Ione.

Mark is survived by his daughter, Marissa Holloway; his brother, Jim (Melody) Holloway; his sister, Susan (Tom) Hess; and his nieces and nephews, Ashley and Brandon Holloway, and Andrew and Megan Hess.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rod and Rose Holloway, and his partner, Ione Wilkens.

In accordance with Mark’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. His cremated remains will be interred at McDivitt Grove Cemetery, 7001 Meredith Drive, Urbandale, Iowa.
