Marjorie May Dewey


Marjorie (Marge) Dewey passed away December 7, 2021. She was born June 26, 1926, to the late Gustaf E. Lundahl and Edna M. (Wheeler) Lundahl in Wakefield, Nebraska. She enjoyed 95 years of life surrounded by family and friends. As a young child she was doted on by her aunts. She went on to graduate from Allen High School in Allen, NE. She spent time in Lincoln, NE; New York, NY; Ames, IA; and South Bend, IN before making Urbandale, IA her permanent home for the past 54 years.


Marge had an eye for fashion and spent 39 years in retail doing what she loved – selling clothes and interacting with people. She and her late husband, Jack Dewey, were active members of Urbandale Golf and Country Club and were active politically. Marge and Jack were members of Saint Stephen Lutheran Church in Urbandale.


In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Donald Lundahl.


Marge is survived by sons Greg (Shelia) Knuth, Jim (Doreen) Knuth, Bob Knuth, and daughter Lori (Scott) Logan; grandchildren Cathy Hackett, Christina Rodda, Pat Knuth, Joe Knuth, Andrew Knuth, Calvin Knuth, Jaclyn Higgins, and Nick Logan; great grandchildren and many dear friends.


There will be a Celebration of Life service at St. Stephen Lutheran Church on December 20th at 1:00-2:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life reception immediately following the service at the Urbandale Golf and Country Club (4000 86th St. Urbandale, IA) at 2:00-5:00 p.m. and all are invited. Marge will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery at a later date.


Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society, St. Stephen Lutheran Church, or a charity of your choice. Marge will be dearly missed by many.
