Lola J. Carson

Lola J. Carson, 84 of Johnston, IA passed away December 26, 2020 at Bickford of Urbandale.

Lola was born on October 30, 1936 to John Jeptha and Juanita Mae Robins Webb in Clarke County, IA. She grew up on a farm near Osceola and graduated from Osceola High School in 1954. She was engaged to Everette Carson in December and they were married April 10, 1955. They moved to Des Moines in the fall of 1956 and then to Johnston in 1962. They raised three sons; Steven, Brian and Dennis. She worked at Hy-Vee and the Johnston Public School Lunch Service until she retired. Lola loved to sing, play the guitar, gardening/canning, sewing/quilting and cooking for her family. Everette retired from Iowa Power and Midwest Gas Company in 1992. Together they went to music jams where she would sing and play her guitar and Everette would play the violin. In 1995 they started going to Mission, TX for the winters until the spring of 2020.

Lola was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law Amelia and Orville Carson; brothers, James Webb; and John Webb and wife Betty; brother-in-law Larry Helms; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Phyllis and Robert Wolf; and sister-in-law Beverly Carson.

Lola is survived by her husband Everette of Johnston, IA; son Steve and wife Rose of Colorado Springs, CO; son Brian and wife Sharon of Des Moines, IA; son Dennis and wife Stephanie of Union, IA; sister Wilma Helms of Lakeland, FL; brother Jerry Webb and wife Sharon of Osceola, IA; sister-in-law Anne Welker of Murray, IA; brother-in-law Darrell Carson of Murray, IA; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
