It is with great sadness we announce the passing of LeRoy Bennett Corbin Jr. 71. LeRoy passed away at Iowa Methodist Hospital on December 16, 2023 surrounded by family. Burial arrangements will be made by family at a later date.
LeRoy was born in Des Moines, Iowa on August 21, 1952 to LeRoy and Carolyn Corbin. After graduating from DMS Technical High School, he proudly served with the US Marine Corps. LeRoy retired from the United States Postal Service as a supervisor, in December of 2015.
He thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren’s visits; countless memories of eating (chocolate) ice cream together and much laughter will be treasured. He enjoyed family, metal detecting, and target shooting.
Leroy is survived by his spouse of 38 years Jean E Corbin; children Leslie Corbin, Kathleen (Joseph) Druda, Stephen Corbin, Stephanie (Ben) Grabill, Scott (Lacey) Vaughn-Corbin, Kyle Flanagan and Bill Flanagan; 20 grandchildren ; brothers and sisters; Rodney, Randy (Linda), Sharon (Jack) Keller, Russell, Ronald, Bobby (Teresa), Deanna Briggle and Rick (Diana); his beloved dog Anchor, many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Cheryl Buch.
