Larry E Hobson, Sr. 74 of Des Moines passed away on October 18th, 2020 at Wesley Acres Hospice. Larry was the son of the late Roy Hobson Sr. and Dora (Baker) Hobson of Rockford, IL.
Larry was educated in the Rockford Public School System and went on to a career as an Over The Road Truck Driver and Machinist. He will be remembered for how he was always ready to lend a helping hand, his quick wit, and hellraising! Larry loved tinkering and socializing in his garage, road trips, and hunting.
He is predeceased by his wife, Charlene Hobson; siblings Bruce Hobson, Roger Hobson, Richard Hobson, Sally Bailey, and Roy Hobson Jr. Survived by two daughters, Sybil Bennett of Maryland and Loretta Ojeda, son, Larry Hobson Jr. both of Tennessee, four stepchildren, Charles Ryan of Des Moines, Michael Bjorem of Tennessee, Randy Jo Korbyn of Arizona, Cheryl Oxford of Des Moines, nine grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, sister Carol Boatman, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. His family in Baltimore will be hosting a small memorial service in Baltimore in his honor on 10/25/2020.
