Kendrick Reece “Ken” Epping Sr. passed away September 15, 2021, after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Reese “Bud” and Mary Alice Epping, a brother; Dennis Epping, a sister; Ramona Epping and a great-great grandson; Abraham Carpenter.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife; Martha “Marty” Epping, daughter; Michelle (Dave) Meador, sons; Ken Epping Jr., Doug and (Vicky) Epping, and Dennis Epping, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, sisters; Kendra Epping and Jessie Bell.
Ken & Marty were married for 58 years and lived most of their lives in Des Moines. Ken owned and operated a home improvement company for several years before retiring in 2007. Since he couldn’t sit still and didn’t like being retired, Ken did odd jobs up until 2019.
Ken enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. His odd sense of humor will be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Ken’s family.
A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 2211 E. 42nd St., Des Moines, IA 50317 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
