Karen Ann Marasco (1942–2025)

Karen Ann Marasco, 83, passed away on December 13, 2025, in Des Moines, Iowa, the city where she spent the majority of her life and built a loving home.

Born on July 24, 1942, in Austin, Minnesota, Karen moved to Iowa in her youth and was a proud graduate of the Valley High School Class of 1960. Throughout her life, Karen had many talents. She worked professionally as a skilled tailor and later as a dedicated real estate agent. However, she considered her most important roles to be those of a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Karen’s favorite time of year was Christmas. She cherished the holiday season and poured her heart into bringing her family together to celebrate. Her warmth and festive spirit will be deeply missed this season and always.

She is survived by her husband, Camillio Marasco; her daughter, Vanessa Baker; her son, Phillip Marasco; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 29th 4:00-6:00 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Des Moines. In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
