JOSEPH ROSS HANRAHAN

Joe passed away on March 6, 2026, after fighting a lengthy illness.

After serving 3 years in the Army, he worked for Armstrong Rubber for 22 years. After that he sold cars for Dewey Ford. Joe loved midget and sprint racing and going to old car shows where he always took a lot of pictures.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Judy, three children Lana Hanrahan-Ahmed (Mike) of Urbandale, Greg Hanrahan of Des Moines, and Tracie Peterson (Ryan) of Urbandale and a niece Denise Zinn of Holly, Michigan. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Gabrielle, Delaney, and Mallory Peterson.

He was predeceased by his parents Mike and Frieda Hanrahan of Des Moines, a brother Dennis Hanrahan of Fenton, Michigan, and a half-brother Jaimie Hanrahan of Des Moines.

Grave side services will be held at Chapel Hill Cemetery on Merle Hay Road for the immediate family only.
