Jim Wetrich

James “Jim” Wetrich, 77, was born on October 30, 1944, in Maquoketa, Iowa to Leon and Catherine Wetrich. His family moved to Earlham, Iowa in 1955. He graduated from Earlham High School in 1963.


Jim married Bonnie Ludwick, and they had five children together, Mike, Steve, Ron, Dan, and Sue. They later divorced.


In 1981, he married Joanne Clague Renner.


He passed away at his home on September 28, 2022.


Jim will be remembered for his love of the Iowa Hawkeyes, especially Hawkeye basketball, watching sports in general, and the Kansas City Chiefs. He was a big jokester, who loved to have a good time.


Jim is survived by his loving wife, Joanne; five children, Mike (Kathy) Wetrich, Steve (Rita) Wetrich, Ron (Christy) Wetrich, Dan Wetrich, and Sue (Chris) Brindley; and two stepdaughters, Tami (Pete) Irwin, and Nannette (Troy) McNeill; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends.


Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. The address is PO Box 177, Redfield, IA 50233.


No services are planned at this time. Although, a gathering of friends and family may be held at a later date at the Dexter American Legion.
