Ida was born in Des Moines, IA on 9/23/1926 and passed away just three short months of turning 100 on 6/25/2026. Ida lived at Karen Acres Heath Care Center in Urbandale, IA where she received compassionate care for almost ten years.
She was a lover of all animals, loved her daily coffee and favorite TV shows “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “Golden Girls.” Ida loved to chat and began most of her conversations with the phrase “Mama Mia.” Always proud of her Italian heritage and living most of her life on Des Moines Southside. She grew up on 23rd Street in Des Moines which was walking distance from her Father Bruno’s Iowa Market Grocery Store. She graduated from North High School in 1944.
She was preceded in death by former husband James Bradley, daughter in-law Diane Bradley, parents Inez and Bruno Gangale, five older brothers, Gene, Joe, Ralph, Bruno and Frank Gangale, and her longtime special friend Jerry Lynch.
She is survived by her sons Gibson Bradley, Victor Bradley (Jen), daughter Rita Stone (Kirk), two granddaughters Marisa Bradley, Emily Sims (Ross), two step granddaughters Jenna Madison and Brianna Ruppert, and several great grandchildren.
The family will host a celebration of life for family and friends at the home of Rita Stone in the near future.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Karen Acres Health Care Center. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be directed to Animal Rescue League.
