Ian Sawyer

Ian Sawyer, 54, passed away on August 20, 2026, at his home in Madrid, Iowa.

A celebration of Life will be held on September 20, 2026, at Centennial Park in Huxley, Iowa, from I:00 PM to 4:00PM.  The family will be there to greet everyone.  Ian was born on February 17,1972, to Mike and Kathi Sawyer of Huxley, Iowa. 

Ian loved people and never met a stranger!  He almost always had a big smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye!  He was the eternal optimist, even in the face of adversity! He was a golfer, a great pool player, played cribbage with mom, and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan!  A shrine to the Bills can be found in his living room.  But his true love was Keaton, Chase, Zach, & Jake – his 4 beautiful sons!  Sports events, family outings to the lake, made him so very happy.  They were the lights of his life!  And we can’t forget Rex & Beasley, his 2 canine buddies!

Ian was preceded in death by his grandparents and an aunt. He is survived by his parents Mike & Kathi Sawyer, his sons:  Keaton, Chase, Zach, Jake, his brother Joe (Leslie) Sawyer, uncles Keven & Dana Zucker, many cousins, and many, many friends.
