Heather Leigh Green, “Butter”, 49 of Des Moines, Iowa passed away on June 11, 2021. She was born November 6, 1971 in Ames, Iowa; daughter of the late Gary Valline and Jan Schoenbaum.
Heather attended school at Colo Nesco High School and later attended culinary school at Job Corp. Cooking was her passion, she always wanted to cook for her family and friends. She was a free spirit who made friends easily and had an outgoing personality. She loved life and lived it to the fullest and was always quick to help someone in need. She always enjoyed finding good deals while thrift shopping, listening to music and dancing. Most of all she loved her family and adored her two sons.
She leaves behind the love of her life and best friend: Bob Stover; sons: Walter Green Jr. and Kohlby Green of Des Moines; loving father of their two sons: Walter Green Sr.; siblings: Jeff (Jan) Moore of Garden City, Jill (Barney) Beard of Lake of the Ozarks, Amanda (Michael) Shreve of Waverly and April Jimenez; 14 nieces and nephews; 10 great nieces and nephews and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 17, 2021, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at American Legion Post 37, 225 Main Street, Ames, Iowa, 50010
