Gerrit William Luecht, 68, of Malcom died at his home on July 3RD 2024 with his son and daughter by his side.
Gerrit was born the son of John Luecht and Norma (Korthof) Luecht on February 29th, 1956. He graduated from Grinnell High School in 1974 but attended BGM Schools for the majority of his schooling. After graduating from high school, he joined the Iowa National guard for 4 years. After the National Guard, his career consisted of various mechanic shops and Dodge Dealership for 7 years. He was an excellent mechanic and could fix just about anything. He enjoyed watching westerns and sports and collecting baseball cards. Most of all, he loved to build model cars and his dog, Baby.
He is survived by his daughter Suzy (Shannon) Comstock of New Sharon, son John (Angie) Luecht of Oskaloosa, grandchildren, Alykai Comstock, Dylan (Cheyenne) Comstock, Kelsey Comstock, Kiara Luecht, and Kolton Luecht, one great granddaughter Freya Comstock, three sisters, Linda (Dusty) Hamilton, Lois (Bill) Damron, Jo (Bob) Luecht-Medlin, one brother Bill (Cindy) Luecht, and many nieces and nephews.
Gerrit was proceeded in death by his parents John & Norma Luecht and wife Jerry.
As per Gerrit’s wishes, he will be cremated, and his ashes will be scattered at his home for a private family ceremony.
