Gary Allen Timmons

Gary Allen Timmons, 86, of Des Moines, Iowa.  Born on July 15, 1939, and passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly on March 6, 2026. 

He loved weightlifting and being at the gym. He enjoyed watching UFC fights with his grandson, Chris. He cherished the time he spent with his family. At reunions, he would play softball, football, and just catch up with those he loved. His love for family and friends was indisputable. He also treasured his trips to Texas to visit his family.  Above all, he held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren. He will be greatly and sorely missed. 

Gary is survived by his daughters, Jeri Lynn Taylor and Tracey Rae Lloyd; sister, Sue Burns; grandsons, Christopher Coleman, Joshua Brown and Joseph Brown; granddaughters, Jamie Lynn Dickerson and Toni Nicole Taylor, both of Texas. He also leaves behind 9 great-grandsons and 2 great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. 

Gary is preceded in death by his beloved parents Don and Elnora (Gyles) Timmons; sisters Sheryl Smith-Barr and Judith Hazelbaker.

A Celebration of Life to honor Gary will be held at a later date, to allow for extended family and friends to gather and celebrate together.
