Francis Wright

Francis L. (Frank) Wright was born September 28, 1937, in Carroll, Iowa and passed away peacefully at the age of 88 at Accura HealthCare of Carlisle, Iowa.

Frank was united in marriage to Barbara (Watertor) Wright February 14, 1959, until her passing in 2007. He was later united in marriage to Sallie (Deaton) Wright February 17, 2009. He was employed at Hummel’s Nissan in Des Moines for 40 years as an auto mechanic and service manager. He was active at the Polk County Northside Community Center for many years and enjoyed watching auto racing and participated in Sports Car Club of America events for years. He was a golfer and loved his motorcycles. He was very attached to his dogs, Sammy and Rocky.

Frank is survived by his wife of 17 years, Sallie of Des Moines and his son, Mike (Cyndy) Wright of Des Moines, brother, Gary, and dogs, Sammy and Rocky.

Frank was proceeded in death by his parents, (Louis and Viola) Wright, wife of 48 years, Barbara, and his brothers, John and Paul.

A private ceremony was held at Merle Hay Chapel September 10.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Accura HealthCare of Carlisle and especially the staff from St. Croix Hospice who make his last days comfortable for him and his family.
