Dorothy Lucille Jorgenson

Dorothy Lucille Jorgenson, 97, of Urbandale, Iowa, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, at StoryPoint Urbandale. She was born on September 10, 1928, in Lorimer, Iowa.

Dorothy retired from Firestone Tire Company, where she worked on the retail side for many years. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling and loved to shop. She remained active and social well into her nineties, spending most of her weeks exercising and line dancing with her friends at local senior centers around town — a reflection of her joyful spirit and love of life.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Michael, Cheryl, and Robert; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Gene G. Jorgenson.

A private family graveside memorial will be held in the spring of 2026.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to organizations supporting Memory Care, Dementia, Alzheimer’s research, or Heart Health initiatives in Dorothy’s honor.
