On December 16, 2022, Dorothy "Dotty” Combs passed away peacefully at age 91 in the arms of loved ones. She was born on July 20, 1931, in Lansing, MN to the late Herbert and Ethel Weichert.
In 1953, Dotty married Kenneth Combs and together they had 6 children. A natural born caregiver, she selflessly and lovingly dedicated her life to being an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a woman of strong faith and found joy in the simple things many overlook; a bird’s song, delicate flowers, a hot cup of coffee or tea, road trip adventures and a sweet treat in good company. Her big heart for her family gifted those she left behind with priceless and cherished memories.
Dotty is survived by one son, Patrick Combs; five daughters, Debbie Funaro, Dee Nee Amodeo (Ralph), Denise Conley (Bill), Lindy Fitch (Rick), and Chris Perez; grandchildren, Jeanne Studer, Jenny Piper, Susan Bobinger, Shanda Lewiston, Lindsey Koch, Chad Conley, Kelly Selgrade, Emily Perez, Olivia Perez, Alicia Mogren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mona Leonard and Donna Weichert.
Dotty was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Kenneth Combs; and three brothers, Paul Weichert, Herbert Weichert, and Dennis Weichert.
A mass of Christian burial and private celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held for the family. A graveside burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.
