Debra L. Horton

Debra L. Horton, 71, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, completed her earthly journey on October 7, 2026, at home with her family by her side.

Debi graduated from Watertown High School in 1973. She married her forever love, Rick Horton, on March 31, 1973, and they shared 53 years of marriage.

Together, they were blessed with two children, Christina and Brad. Debi enjoyed crafts of all kinds and was especially gifted in sewing and quilting. She also had a talent for teaching and sharing her knowledge with others.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Rick; her daughter, Christina (the late Dr. Tim Howard); her son, Brad (Brandy); her grandsons, Grant, Caleb, and Drew; and her great-granddaughter, Willa. She is also survived by her siblings, Cheryl, Lori (Roger), and Karen, and her brother, Steven (Bev). She is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Cindy and Robyn (Mitch), and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her dogs, Gunner and Sadie.

Debi was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and LaVonne Splinter; her infant sister, LaDonna; her beloved grandmother, Grace; her in-laws, William and Marlys Horton; her brothers-in-law, Jeff Horton and Jack Case; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Debi will be loved and missed by many who knew her.

Memorials may be sent to the family. Cremation has taken place, and burial will be held at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery in Watertown, South Dakota.
